Tuesday 31st July saw Barbados U-17 and USVI U-17 teams going head to head for A shot at advancement into the second round of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers.
In the opening minutes of the game team Barbados was obviously dominating and scored withing ten(10) minutes of the match. USVI however, did not give up and they kept Bajan team at bay for the most of the first half. In the closing minutes of the first half they even managed to equalise.
The game was still in anyone’s hands. The second half came and the Bajans turned up the heat. In a matter of minutes they had scored two goals and were on their way to keeping hope alive for advancement.
At the end, the score was 4-1. Barbados is now tied with St. Kitts-Nevis and have to face them in their next match. Both teams have won one match with one remaining and only one can advance.
Be there on Thursday 2nd August, 2012 at Warner Park to witness the deciding game between St. Kitts-Nevis and Barbados.
