CAYON ROCKETS AND OLD ROAD LADY JETS ADVANCE TO 2025 ELVIS STAR BROWNE WOMEN’S LEAGUE FINALS

ST. PETERS, St. Kitts — The stage is set for the grand finale of the 2025 Elvis Star Browne Women’s League, as Mapau Cayon Rockets and MFCR Old Road United Lady Jets secured their spots in the championship match following impressive semifinal victories on Wednesday, October 29, at the National Bank Group Technical Center.

In the opening semifinal, Mapau Cayon Rockets edged defending champions Honda Newtown United 1–0, courtesy of a 67th-minute strike from Myesha Rawlins. The win marks Cayon’s best-ever run in the league, and Coach Tyrone O’Loughlin expressed immense pride in his team’s determination and execution. “They went out and executed what the game plan was and came up with the victory. I am so proud of them,” said O’Loughlin. “I always say I am extremely proud of the girls because they actually stepped up and started to do what they were supposed to do. We still have work to do in terms of practice consistency, but even when they don’t train, they stay connected and focused. They really wanted this.”

In the second semifinal, the unbeaten MFCR Old Road United Lady Jets continued their dominant form with a commanding 6–1 victory over playoff debutants Security Forces FC Women.

League MVP and Golden Boot winner Tarvia Phillips opened the scoring with a brace in the 4th and 10th minutes, while Kiwandra McCall netted a hat-trick in the 29th, 37th, and 56th minutes. Zonia Marshall added another in the 47th minute. Security Forces’ Jerzelle Challenger pulled one back in the 63rd minute for her team.

Team Manager Azariah Vanterpool praised the Lady Jets’ consistency and team spirit throughout the season. “I think the team has had an incredible season. We finished in first place, undefeated. We won Golden Boot, League MVP and so far we have had a really great season,” she said.

“I think there’s no question when it comes to their talents. It’s just now for us to execute and win the championship. We have some really talented players, good footballers. I think the camaraderie this year has been somewhat better. We were able to do a bit of team bonding activities which helped to boost the morale of the team. And I think that is what I would credit to their performance.”

The 2025 Elvis Star Browne Women’s League Finals will be played on Saturday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the National Bank Group Technical Center in St. Peters.
