CARIBBEAN FOOTBALL UNION (CFU) TO HOLD CONGRESS IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY, MAY 22, 2012
Members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) will be attending the 2012 CFU Ordinary Congress in Budapest, Hungary on May 22, 2012, in conjunction with the CONCACAF and the FIFA Congresses.
Acting General Secretary, Damien E. Hughes made the formal announcement on March 7, 2012 at the CRU Extraordinary Congress in Curacao. CFU Members were then reminded via a reminder notice that included a Programme Outline for the three-day Congress schedule. “This year’s CFU Congress will focus significantly on the football, technical, institutional, and administrative components of the Union’s work.” said Damien Hughes, “This will be achieved through the presentation and discussion by the 2011 Executive & Normalisation Committees’ Activity Report, Reports from the three CFU Committees, and the audited financial statements for the period ending 31 December 2011.”
Up to three delegates from each of the CFU Member Associations may attend the Ordinary Congress, as it is in conjunction with the CONCACAF and the FIFA Congresses.
The CFU Ordinary Congress will include elections for all Executive Committee positions in accordance with the decision taken at the CFU Extraordinary Congress held on December 21, 2011, and in accordance with the CFU Statutes adopted on March 7, 2012 Edition.
The positions to be filled will be those of President, First Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 3rd Vice President, 4th Vice President and four other members.
Member Associations may nominate candidates for the CFU Executive Committee positions in writing no later that April 22, 2012. The CFU General Secretariat will notify Member Associations of the names of the eligible candidates for each position within seven days after the expiration of the deadline.
