CONCACAF’s President Jeffrey Webb outlined the objective of such an event by stating “As we embrace a new era in women’s football, we aim to further develop the talents of female players in our Confederation and will continue to empower the women’s game through initiatives such as this one.”
The Day Kicked off with a march from the Football House to the Warner Park Football Stadium where the opening ceremony commenced following a speech by SKNFA President Anthony Johnson. Hereafter the ladies engaged in grassroots tournaments, a women’s soccerama and a football skills tournament.
This event received a great deal of support from the general public, private sector as well as the entire CONCACAF region.
