When you see the above match report for a Final Four match you’d most likely get turned off and immediately assume that the matchup was uninteresting. This was definitely not the case with the game: Delphic Newtown United vs Conaree FC.
Both teams were adamant that they would not go down without a fight. In the opening minutes of play Conaree kept the pressure piling on and eventually got a strike which hit the side bar stunning all the on-lookers.
Newtown came back with more zeal and eventually they too hit the bar. Everyone was in utter shock but the teams kept pressing on. The pitch was definitely a battlefield; sweat, dirt and grime, men grimacing in pain, hard bodily contact, sharp prints and loud screams on both ends. The only added element was a football and a referee.
At the end of the day however, Conaree shook hands with the enemy as they hesitantly called a truce and agreed to each take one point from the game.
The next match is on Wednesday 8th June at 8:00 p.m Warner Park and features S.L.Horsford St. Pauls vs Delphic Newtown United.
