The St Kitts Nevis Football Association made history once again when a football game was officiated by all female referees. In an effort to continue to improve the sport of football at all levels the female football trio was given the responsibility for the first time to referee a Division 1 game.
The female officials for the game between Davis Construction Lodge Patriots vs. Washington Archibald High School on Wednesday 2 February 2011 were Florencetine Morton- Referee, Shatresha Ephraim and Kendrea Tully Assistant Referees.
Florencetine Morton has been officiating football games as a Referee and Assistant referee for some time now. Shatresha and Kendrea are newly appointed referees who recently completed the MA Referee Course held last month.
The SKNFA is always seeking persons to come on board as officials. The opportunities to be a referee and coach are always available. The Association has been hosting a series of courses for both coaches and referees in order to attract new officials and also to improve the standards of those who are already officials.
The SKNFA would like to congratulate the three ladies on a job well done and encourage more females to take up the role as referees and also coaches.
