The St Kitts Nevis Football Association is once again is investing in the development of football by hosting a Member Association Coaching Course this week. The course began on Sunday 7th November at the Football House on Lozack Road Basseterre.
The Coaching Course began with a short opening ceremony that was attended by the SKNFA President Mr.Anthony Johnson, Mr. Alvin Corneal FIFA instructor, Mr. Lenny Lake Technical Director-SKNFA, Ms. Andrea Liburd Marketing Manager-SKNFA and various coaches.
President Johnson thanked the attendees for attending the course and also said he was proud of the strides that are being made by the Association to improve that quality of football in the federation at all levels.
Mr. Corneal explained, “the course is a serious one, as coaches need to have a better understanding of the game. A coach needs to understand how to deal with substitutions, preparing a team and also team analysis among other things.”
Technical Director Lenny Lake said, “this course is an enhancement course, it is to update the coaches on the trends and the changes in the football world. There will be more courses such as these in the future and I urge all coaches to participate when we host them.”
The course continues today Monday 8th November at 4pm and concludes Friday 12th November with a closing ceremony. The course will consist of lectures and practical sessions each day. Participants of the course will be engaged in topics that are vital to improving the game at all levels.
The St Kitts-Nevis Football Association recently concluded a Grassroots Com-Unity Seminar and Football Festival on Saturday 6th November 2010. The Seminar focused on the development of youth and football throughout the communities St Kitts and Nevis.
