George “Kinta” Gilbert

George Gilbert, better known as Kinta began his coaching career in 1982 and is still coaching in 2016.

During his coaching years, he has coached Cayon’s Senior and Youth Teams, Ottley Together Heads and Conaree Football Clubs.

His coaching achievements include:

  • Winning the 1997 President’s Cup and the 2001-2002 Premier League Cup.
  • First Coach to win the cup for Cayon since their entrance in the Park in 1975.
  • Took the Conaree Football Club to their first Final Four after eight (8) years of trying.

Kinta was also involved in the administrative side of football as the Vice President of the Rural East Football Association.

His coaching philosophy is centred on the German Style of play.

Mr. Gilbert takes responsibility for the foundation of George Yellowman Isaac, as a great player.
