Get Ready for Fierce Football Action in St. Kitts-Nevis!
Basseterre, St. Kitts- It’s time again for Warner Park to come alive in true World Cup Qualifier style, as home team St. Kitts-Nevis will look to get a good head start with a win over Turks and Caicos. The game is slated to be played on 23rd March, followed by an away game in Turks and Caicos on 26th March. The winner from this group will advance to the second round where they will face off against El Salvador.
In Speaking with head coach Jeffrey K Hazel he revealed just how high his expectations were for the upcoming matches. HYazel has been a coach for sixteen (16) years and the national senior coach for the past two and a half years. Coach Hazel recalls
The team’s major accomplishment of topping the group of the Caribbean Cup and advancing to the semi finals in 2015.
This year he claims the attention to detail has been improved to overcome the limitations the team has while also building on their strengths. Hazel continued by saying the “toughest challenge is to get our people buying into what we are trying do. When the team is doing well everyone rallies. We want to improve our standards of the technically proficient football we see”.
When asked about the goals set fro the team he revealed that “the main objective is to reach the World Cup that says it all. We have a short term goal which is to pass the first round and medium term for the next round of matches. We want to go all the way and we won’t be satisfied until we do”.
Coach Jefferey Hazel ended with a plea to the general public. We welcome the support of the general public to rally behind and with team St. Kitts-Nevis in our ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL campaign”. He ended by insinuating that the twelfth man (supporters) are just as important to the team as the staff is.
