Goal Project 2(Technical Center) is officially underway.

Basseterre, St. Kitts- 22nd June, 2013- A swarm of delegates today gathered to witness the official Groundbreaking Ceremony of the SKNFA’s Goal Project 2 held at St. Peters. Dignitaries including: Governor General His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Parliamentary Representatives Hon. Glen Phillip, Hon. Sam Condor and Hon. Eugene Hamilton, President of CONCACAF & Vice President of FIFA Jeffrey Webb, President of CFU(Caribbean Football Union) Gordon Derek, FIFA Regional Development Officer Howard Mcintosh, President of the SKNFA Anthony Johnson, General Secretary of the SKNFA Stanley Jacobs and members of the SKNFA’s Executive.

The Cereomony began with the National Anthem by Astonia Carey and was then followed the invocation by Reverend Canon Isiah Phillip. The SKNFA’s Stanley Jacobs delivered greetings to and guided the audience through the program. Hon. Glen Phillip was eager to deliver remarks to those in attendance as continued to show genuine enthusiasm toward the countless projects the SKNFA undertake.

Phillip has allowed the SKNFA and the Ministry of Sport to establish and maintain a strong relationship throughout the past years and hopes to continue to contribute to the empowerment of Kittitian-Nevisian youth through sports.

President Johnson in his Brief presentation showed gratitude to the past administration of the SKNFA for their on both Goal Projects and vowed to continue to see to it that the youth are equip with what is necessary to hone their talents into something much greater than they could imagine. Johnson reminded everyone of our players currently playing on the collegiate level and expects that this project will birth professional-minded athletes with an aim of omitting any possibilities of “Culture shock” when players enter the outside world.

President of CFU Gordon Derek encouraged all administrators of football to think about the future of football. “We are out of our prime” he exclaimed during his address. He pleaded with everyone involved in developing the product to do so in the best interests of the youth.

Jeffery Webb, after sufficiently complimenting the island’s beauty commended President Johnson on his hard work and achievements thus far. He urged the youth to dream big and convinced of successes resulting from hard work through a personal story.

Hon. Prime Minister who delivered the featured address explained how the donations of CFU, CONCACAF and FIFA will contribute to erasing the effects of the Global Economic Crisis. He congratulated the FA on its new initiative and welcomed the initiative aimed at youth and national development.

Presentations were made to Ministers Douglas and Phillip along with the Governor General by CONCACAF Representatives. Presentations were also made to the U-14 Runners-up and Champions Rams Village Superstars and Delphic Newtown United Respectively.

The SKNFA wishes to thank all those who attended the historic ceremony and looks forward to greater things in the near future.
