Grassroots Course
Friday 13th July marked the end of the SKNFA’s Grassroots course where over thirty(30) persons were educated in the “art” of becoming a Grassroots Coach educator. The majority of the group comprised of teachers from the primary and secondary schools as well as existing coach educators on both St. Kitts and Nevis.
The course instructor Mr. Alvin Corneal, has been involved in our program since its initiation and was also the instructor at our last Grassroots Com-unity Seminar held in November 2010. On the final day of the program, kids were treated to a Grassroots festival organized by the participants. Following the festival, they were given treats to eat and some to take home.
Women’s League
On Sunday 15th July, the SKNFA LIME Star Browne Women’s League’s Round II kicked off. C.C.C Bath United won by default over St. Thomas Trinity Strikers, hence they were awarded three(3) points.
Delphic Newtown United trounced Cayon in a 4-0 victory.Delphic Newtown continues on in their winning ways and remain at the top of the table. Second place Village Superstars convincingly defeated St. Peters Blue Angels 4-1 in the final game of the day.
U-17 & U-20
On 28th July the St. Kitts-Nevis U-20 National team will travel to Dominica Republic to fight for a spot in the FIFA 2013 U-20 World Cup Qualifiers. One day later, their little brothers(National U-17) will contend for their spot right here in St.Kitts in the first round of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers matches.
This is what the SKNFA has been up to the past couple days, we remain active and on the go to secure a future in football for our kids(Grassroots), females and our youth(U-17 & U-20) as well as our senior players. We can’t wait to see everyone at Warner Park on 29th July in support of our U-17 guys.
