Group 3 CFU 2015 Women’s U-17 Qualifiers begins in St Kitts & Nevis on August 22

Group 3 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2015 Women’s Under -17 Qualifiers preliminary games begins on Saturday, August 22, at the Elquemedo T Willet Park Stadium, in St Kitts and Nevis.

The first game will be played at 5:30pm between Trinidad & Tobago and Dominica while at 8:00pm St Kitts-Nevis hosts the British Virgin Islands.

On Monday, August 24, British Virgin Islands meets Trinidad & Tobago at 5:30pm and St Kitts and Nevis plays Dominica at 8:00pm.

The last set of games will be played on Wednesday, August 26 when British Virgin Islands tackles Dominica at 5:00pm and St. Kitts-Nevis challenges Trinidad & Tobago at 8:00pm.

Cuba, Haiti and Jamaica have topped their respective Groups 1, 2 and 3 in the same order in the preliminary games played last July and are awaiting the results of this group to prepare for the final round scheduled for November 13-18 of this year.

Eight teams will qualify for this round, the teams are hosts Puerto Rico which gets automatic qualification and will be joined by the winners from each group as well as the Best Runner-up in the four team groups, the 2nd Best Runner-up in the four group teams and Best Runner-up in the three team groups.

Four teams will enter the Knock-Out stage of the semi-finals and the two finalists will join Grenada to compete in the 2016 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship. Grenada are the host for this edition of the championship

In Group 1 Cuba gained nine points from three games, Dominican Republic earned six after winning two games, Cayman Islands got three points from winning one game and the Bahamas failed to earn a point by losing all three games.

Group 2 was won by Haiti who won both of their games and gained six points, Bermuda won one game and got three points while Curacao ended up with no point at all.

Jamaica gained maximum nine points from three games in Group 4 followed by Barbados with six points. Suriname gained three points while St Lucia never made it on the score sheet.
