Holding Final-4 play-offs at cricket stadium present special opportunities for stakeholders

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 13th July 2015 – “We look forward to a keenly contested Final-4 in a very world-class facility,” said Anthony Johnson, president of the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association, in a Final-4 press conference held at Football House on Monday.
The play-offs start on Wednesday 15, and will be held for the first time in the Warner Park Cricket Stadium, and the SKNFA president invited patrons to support the play-offs.
“I want to encourage all of the patrons in St. Kitts and Nevis to come on out and witness exciting football…I say to you this morning that the party continues,” Johnson said, making reference to the back-to-back events of Music Festival that was immediately followed by CPL T20 cricket.
Some of the activities taking place in and around the football will include the famous International Iron Band, half-time giveaways, music entertainment, and just “the opportunity for everyone to witness and to be a part of a very exciting event”, Johnson declared.
Secretary General Stanley Jacobs said the teams are ready for competition. “They have been training extremely hard. A number of them have been on overseas camps and now they are ready to play,” he said.
The holding of the Final-4 play-offs on the cricket side of Warner Park presents a special opportunity for both the Association and the corporate community.
“It is an opportunity for the corporate community to invite staff and clients out to the corporate box and enjoy a night of football,” Jacobs said, as he explained that sixteen suites were available for the corporate community.
“We’ll like to sell all sixteen suites to the corporate community,” said Jacobs. The 24-seat suites are available at $5,000, and the 12-seat suites are going at $3,000.
Dedication of the game to past players is a tradition Jacobs said will continue in this year’s play-offs.
It is particularly special this year, because it marks the 30th Anniversary of St. Kitts and Nevis winning the inaugural OECS Football Tournament. Jacobs said, “We will be honouring that team in a very big way,” as he kept hold of the details of what he described also as a historic event that everyone should see.
The excitement of the Final-4 is not lost on main sponsor, the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank. Representing the Bank at the press conference was Sabrina Vaughn, who said, “Over the season, we have seen some excellent football, some real professional matches, some real exciting matches, and we know that come Final-4, every one of the teams represented here today is going to put their best foot forward to produce what St. Kitts and Nevis patrons would never forget.”
Indicating that National Bank was “proud” to have sponsored the Premier League, she indicated that the relationship with the Football Association has been long-standing. “As a good corporate citizen, we are very happy to have made it possible once again to stage the Premier League… and to see that our investment has not gone to waste. It has really yielded great results, and we are very proud to be the sponsor of the Premier League. We are looking forward to an exciting Final-4,” Vaughn said.
Johnson expressed thanks to the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, as well as other supportive corporate entities. He said, “National Bank came on board in a very significant way, and we look forward to the continued partnership between the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association and the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank.”
He thanked also other entities that indicated intentions to be associated with the Final-4, including the Ministry of Tourism, FastCash St. Kitts, Hobson’s Enterprises, Delta Petroleum and S. L. Horsford & Co. Ltd.
