LODGE PATRIOTS LEAD STANDINGS AFTER COMPETITIVE MATCH WEEK 2 IN SKNFA DIVISION I

The 2025–2026 SKNFA Division I Football Season continued from Thursday, December 4, to Sunday, December 7, delivering another round of intense matchups in Match Week 2. At the close of the weekend, 607 Construction Lodge Patriots sit at the top of the table with 6 points and a +12 goal difference, narrowly ahead of SKELEC Garden Hotspurs, who also have 6 points with a +11 goal difference.

Thursday’s fixtures opened with a confident showing from Trinity/Challengers United, who claimed a 2-0 victory over Rivers of Living Water FC. At the Garden Playing Field in Irish Town, Garden Hotspurs continued their strong form with a 3-1 win against Mantab.

On Friday at the Atiba Erasto Harris Sports Complex, Lodge Patriots secured a tight 3-2 victory over CIBC Village Galaxy, while Conaree Fireball International earned a narrow 1-0 win over Elco Limited Security Forces United.

Match Week 2 concluded on Sunday in Molineux, where Molineux Pitbull FC edged Fast Cash Saddlers United with a 1-0 victory. After the match, Molineux coach George “Kinta” Gilbert expressed optimism about his squad’s progress:

“We had some setbacks in terms of the guys coming to practice. But we started to build momentum, because the guys kept coming to practice more regularly,” he said. “We should have won by maybe four to five goals. So we have to sharpen up on our finishing. And you can see the team is gelling a lot more now. So once the guys come to practice more regularly, and we get the chemistry, we’re going to be a force to be reckoned with.”

Saddlers United coach Samuel Phipps reflected on his team’s performance, noting their struggle to maintain the planned strategy:

“The instructions going out were not to play the ball too much into the middle areas. Try to get the balls in the channels and let me work it in the attacking turn,” Phipps said. “But the guys went out; I think they forgot the game plan. They were trying to play the ball around, and I think that defeats us badly today.”

The 2025–2026 SKNFA Division I League resumes this Thursday as teams prepare for Match Week 3.
