OLD ROAD UNITED JETS CAPTURE HISTORIC PRESIDENT’S CUP

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis — September 17, 2026: MFCR Old Road United Jets have made a winning start to the 2026/2027 football season, capturing the 2026 SKNFA President’s Cup with a commanding 4-1 victory over SOL IAS Conaree FC.

Newly appointed captain Tiquanny Williams once again led from the front, scoring a hat-trick to spearhead Old Road’s impressive performance. Rising star Adondre Eddy also found the back of the net in the first half as the defending champions established their dominance.

For Williams, the victory was another statement of Old Road United Jets’ quality and determination following their outstanding 2025/2026 campaign.

“The team was up for it, so we come out and show the fans, we show the football world what we’re capable of doing again. So, it’s just another trophy,” Williams said.

He also highlighted the unity within the squad as a key ingredient to the team’s continued success.

“We respect one another, so we just keep going and going because that’s the respect in the team,” he added.

Williams was appointed captain ahead of the start of the 2026/2027 season, taking on additional responsibility as the club seeks to maintain its winning standards.

Asked whether the captaincy would place greater pressure on him to perform, Williams said the responsibility works both ways.

“My teammates are going to look to me to perform and now, being the captain, I’m going to push them to perform as well,” he said.

The President’s Cup triumph represents a significant milestone in the history of Old Road United Jets. It is the first time the club has captured the SKNFA President’s Cup, completing its collection of major domestic honours.

With the President’s Cup now added to the club’s trophy cabinet, Old Road United Jets begin the new season with another piece of silverware and renewed momentum as they pursue further success in domestic football.
