OLD ROAD UNITED JETS GO TOP OF THE TABLE WITH DOMINANT WIN
Basseterre, St. Kitts — MFCR Old Road United Jets soared to the top of the 2025–2026 National Bank Group/SKNFA Premier League standings on Sunday, November 28, with an emphatic 5-2 victory over Honda Newtown United at the National Bank Group Technical Centre. Tiquanny Williams produced a stellar performance, scoring four goals, while Shevene Boston added a fifth to secure Old Road’s second consecutive win and propel them to the league summit. Newtown’s goals came from Dakari Phipps and Markinson Hippolyte.
On the same evening, defending champions SL Horsford St. Paul’s United suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 1-0 to Development Bank St. Peter’s FC. A second-half free kick from Dionis Stephen proved decisive. The loss compounds St. Paul’s early-season challenges, as they entered the campaign on negative six points due to pre-season sanctions. They now sit on negative three at the bottom of the table.
On Saturday, November 29, SOL IAS Conaree FC mounted a spirited comeback to defeat newly promoted TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles 4-2, despite trailing 2-0. Goals from Tijani Fahie (45’) and Rendell Theodule (50’), along with two Dieppe Bay own goals from Jace Green and Diandra Challenger, sealed the win. The match also reunited former Conaree coach Al Richards with his old club, as he now heads Dieppe Bay’s technical team.
Rams Village Superstars also picked up a crucial win on Saturday, edging St. Kitts Concrete Masters Sandy Point FC 1-0 courtesy of a second-half strike from G’Vaune Amory. The victory brings Village back to even after starting the season with a six-point deduction.
In the night’s final encounter, Azul Cayon Rockets secured a 3-1 triumph over Tropical Blossom Hot Spring Bath United—an important rebound after their opening weekend loss to St. Paul’s. Cayon’s goals came from a Mervyn Lewis brace and a late finish by Shaheem Prentice. Omarion Bartlette netted the lone goal for Bath. Prentice credited the team’s improved defensive focus for the win.
“Well, we know we had to get three points today and we just kept our head down and work our way up, practicing, training and then we execute,” he said. “We do what we practice in training, so we just gotta keep our head down and go into the next week; forgetting this game and now we gotta get our next three points next week against Conaree.”
Bath United’s Aljay Newton explained the pressure his team felt after conceding early. “We went down 2-1 and we tried to stretch to equalize the game. And in trying to equalize the game, they got the third goal. And that’s football,” Newton said.
