Keith Gumbs and Swirijaya came away with a valuable point from their trip to Persijap on the weekend.
In a league where home court advantage means a lot, Swirijaya’s script was basically an upset of the away team that is ranked 6 places below them. The plan almost worked as Swirijaya was in the process of “soaking a long 1 -0 (as we would say in St. Kitts/Nevis) when the home team was able to equalize in the 81st minute much to the delight of the home fans. Earlier Swirijaya opting to play 4-3-3 jumped into the lead after 17 minutes when Pavel Solomin converted his opportunity.
The result help maintain Swirijaya in 5th position but the leader Arema pushed further into the leader with a hammering (6-1) of Persijap and they still have a match in hand.
Swirijaya meanwhile travels to Persela next weekend for another tricky game against one of the dangerous mid table teams.
