Premier Football end March with a bang!

WOW! What a way to end March! What a night it was at the Warner Park Football Stadium tonight (31st March, 2012). The atmosphere? Festive! The crowd? Supportive! The football? Intense! The players? Passionate! The coaches? anxious! The game? Football!

The first game to commence tonight was a battle of the crabs at the bottom of the barrel. St. Thomas Trinity Strikers came up against Mantab. Before the said game, Strikers held 7th Position and Mantab held 9th. The game however, was nothing short of thrilling. The players showed no signs of backing down and raged a fierce battle from beginning to end. With strikers being the team in the higher position they were the crowd’s pick for this game.
Mantab was determined not to go down without a fight. Though they did more defending than attacking, they kept that ball out of their goal by any means necessary. The score was level at nil for over ninety90) minutes, and then, as unpredictable as the beautiful game is, Mantab got a penalty. This was their chance to capitalize with less than a minute to go. You can guess what happened next, GOAAAAAAAAAAL! Approximately thirty (30) seconds later, the fat woman sang as the final whistle blew.

The second game was left nothing to be desired. The pace was fast, the skill set was excellent, the passion was evident and the hunger ever present. UDC Garden drew first blood early and the crowd as immediately intrigued. This was going to be one to remember. RAMS Village Superstars came back in that same half to equalize and then the half ended. At the start of second half it was RAMS Village Superstars once again. 2-1, 3-1 and the 4-1. These Superstars did some recharging in that dressing room and it sure paid off.

Tomorrow’s games promise to be just as exciting when Cayon come up against Conaree at 5:00 p.m. and then S.L.Horsford’s St. Pauls vs Delphic Newtown United at 7:00 p.m. Don’t Miss it!
