Road to Final Two Point standing: Conaree 3, H.E Garden Hotspurs 1, S L Horsford St. Pauls 1 and Rams Village 0
Basseterre, St. Kitts- The SKNFA’s Final Four Playoffs begun with a bang last night at the Silver Jubilee Stadium with the final four teams competing in one game each. In the first game, SL Horsford St. Pauls took on H E Garden Hotspurs. The first half of the game was of a slightly mild nature with both teams creating chances but neither finishing . In the last minute of the first half, it was the young Carlos Bertie who put Spurs in a winning position when he played the ball past St. Pauls’ goalkeeper Jamal Francis.
Twenty-five (25) minutes into the second half Terrance Ward gave hope to St. Pauls with a much needed equalizer. For the remaining twenty minutes of play, many more chances were created, especially by S L Horsford St. Pauls but neither of the teams managed to outscore the other. The match ended in a 1-1 draw which means that both teams take one (1) point each into their next match.
In the second match of the night Conaree came up against Rams Village Superstars. Conaree grabbed the upper hand from the get go and created ample opportunities in the opening stages of the game. A mere 10 minutes into the game, Kadeen “Kay” Lewis was able to plummet the hopes of the Village fans to the ground. The first half ended one(1) goal to nil in favour of Conaree. Three minutes into the second half Kay was back again for more action and more celebration as he found the net yet again, taking Conaree’s lead to two (2) nil.
In the 68th minute however, Joel Jeffers attempted a comeback for Village and succeeded in scoring against Clifford Samuel, Conaree’s goalkeeper who had been extraordinary in the game thus far. In the last minute of the game, Glenroy Samuels convincingly sealed Village’s fate for their first match. The full-time score was three (3)goals to one(1) in favour of Conaree.
More Final Four action continues on Saturday 10th August when S L Horsford St. Pauls takes on Rams Village Superstars at 8:00 p.m at the Silver Jubilee Stadium.
