Basseterre, St. Kitts- S L Horsford St. Pauls has claimed the President’s Cup which marked the end of the FIFA Trophy Tour in SKN. The last time the S. L. Horsford St. Pauls played a championship match was only in September when they were defeated by Conaree and disallowed the Final Four title. Now St. Pauls is back with a vengeance. On Saturday 19th October S L Horsford sent out warnings to the entire Premier Division Community that they would be a force to be reckoned this time around.
The Silver Jubilee Stadium lit up with excitement as the teams from communities around St. Kitts and Nevis engaged in fierce competition to prove to everyone, including FIFA World Cup officials that they were good enough to capture a title. Coincidentally, it was the same Conaree F.C that had defeated St. Pauls in the Final Four that had to face them yet again. Conaree were off to a brilliant start and in the 28th minute managed to put one past St. Paul’s goalkeeper and gain the upperhand. Eleven minutes later Raul Liburd would tie the game and give St. Pauls hope of capturing the trophy.
With only ten minutes of regular time left in the second half Anthony Caines sealed the deal and S L Horsford St. PAuls knew then that they would walk away victors of this battle.
Congratulations to S L Horsford St. Pauls on a job well done, we look forward to an exciting 2013-2014 Premier League. The SKNFA wishes to thank all the teams for competing, the spectators, the persons that worked diligently for making our “Trophy Day” a great one!
