SKNFA Announces Increase In Prize Monies.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 30th September 2015 – The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association has announced major increases in prize money in the Premiere League for the 2015 – 2016 season.

General Secretary Stanley Jacobs disclosed today that the winner of the Premiere League gets $20,000, the second place finisher gets $10,000, third place gets 5,000, while the further place finisher earns $4,000.
Jacobs said, “This represents 100 percent increase for the prize money for the winner over the past two years. The general secretary also disclosed that the prize money for the Division 1 winner will be $5,000.
The SKNFA official stated, “Over $70,000 will be up for grabs in the 2015 – 2016 football season, with about $50,000 of that allocated for the Premier League alone.”

The significant increases could bring about greater seriousness among clubs playing in the already highly competitive League, which gets off to a start on 10th October.
This year teams are also playing under the new Club Licensing rules and players have been taking advantage the Players Injury Insurance scheme.
