SKNFA GRANTS PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS HOME-VENUE HOSTING OPTION FOR 2026–27 SEASON

The St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) is pleased to update that, as part of its strategic and incremental push toward transforming the SKNFA Premier League into a semi-professional competition, Premier League clubs have been formally offered the opportunity to host their home matches at their designated home venues or a venue of their choice for the 2026–2027 season.

This progressive action is a key component of the SKNFA’s long-term development framework and represents a major shift in strengthening club autonomy and commercial growth.

This decision is designed to achieve several critical outcomes:

* Streamlining Matchday Revenues

Clubs will now have greater control over their home fixtures, ensuring they directly reap the financial benefits generated from fan support and match attendance.

* Encouraging Entrepreneurial Revenue Generation

Clubs are being encouraged to proactively pursue additional revenue streams, including:

* Third-party matchday sponsorship

* Concession and vending partnerships

* Hospitality and premium matchday experiences

* Strengthening Community Engagement

Hosting matches within their communities allows clubs to deepen local support, enhance identity, and strengthen grassroots connections.

* Operating as Sustainable Business Entities

This initiative supports clubs in operating as fully functional business organizations, capable of supporting players, staff, and long-term sustainability within a semi-professional framework. The SKNFA has formally communicated with its member clubs and has encouraged them to engage the Department of Sports regarding facility access and usage. The Association stands ready to provide the necessary support to clubs in securing and formalizing venue arrangements.

Importantly, while clubs will assume greater operational responsibility, the SKNFA will continue to oversee and support match day execution through the appointment of match officials and other designated personnel responsible for ensuring the proper administration of fixtures.

This marks another crucial milestone in the evolution of football in St. Kitts and Nevis. What may once have seemed an ambitious aspiration is now increasingly within reach. Through collaboration, accountability, and strategic vision, the SKNFA remains committed to elevating the Premier League to a sustainable semi-professional standard that benefits clubs, players, supporters, and the broader football community.
