SKNFA honours Mr. Seymour Williams

Mr. Seymour Williams Started Playing Football at the tender age of 6 years old for Irish Town Primary School. He played in the center forward position and developed a reputation as one of the top strikers of his time. According to Seymour, as he is popularly known, his inspiration and love of the sport came from his Uncle Mr. Ralph “Baller” Lewis, who was a very good footballer.

Seymour played competitively from a very young age; representing his school teams such as: The Irish Town Primary School, The Basseterre High and the St. Kitts Technical College. Seymour also went on, after he was finished with school, to represent the St Kitts National Team for 5 consecutive years.

Seymour enjoyed a very successful football career both on and off the field. As a youth player he won Championships with the Irish town primary, the St. Kitts Technical College & St. Kitts National Team.

Seymour had a very long career in the SKNFA Premier League (then called the First Division League), where he played in the striker position for Blackburn’s Football Club – a team he won two championships with.

Seymour Williams who is now a successful businessman continues to give back to the sport of football. Over the years, Mr. Williams, through his companies Island Auto Supply and Life Fitness Center has contributed significantly to many football teams in St. Kitts. He has sponsored the Irish town Primary School Football Program for the past 20 years and the Tabernacle Football league for 5 years. He also sponsored the Basseterre High School Football Program from 1992 to present.

In addition, Mr. Williams has sponsored the National Under Men’s Team and various other National teams and programmes of the St. Kitts Nevis Football Association. Currently, his Company Island Auto Supply is the sponsor of one of tonight’s finalist; the SOL Island Auto Conaree Football team; a sponsorship which has been in place for the past three years.

Mr. Seymour Williams involvement with football spans many decades and has indeed impacted the lives of many in our beautiful Federation. The St. Kitts Nevis Football Association considers Mr. Williams to be a true ambassador of the sport, whose love for the sport and contribution to its continued development are immeasurable.
