SKNFA HOSTS REPORT WRITING AND PROFESSIONALISM WORKSHOP FOR MATCH OFFICIALS

The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) continues to invest in the development of its match officials, hosting a Report Writing and Professionalism Workshop on Monday, March 16 at the National Bank Group Technical Centre.

Referees, assistant referees, assessors, and general coordinators participated in the focused session, which was designed to improve match reporting standards and reinforce professionalism across all levels of the game.

The workshop featured interactive discussions and practical training aimed at enhancing accuracy, consistency, and overall performance—both on and off the field—as the SKNFA continues its push to elevate the standard of officiating nationwide.

Speaking during a brief opening ceremony, SKNFA General Secretary Techell Mclean underscored the Association’s commitment to strengthening the administrative side of the sport.

“In order for you to get good results, it has to be reflected not just on the field of play, but in black and white. As such, we’re now hosting today a developmental session, which will deal with report writing and professionalism. This will help when it comes to reporting to capture all the necessary information for you to effectively function in your roles as general coordinators and match officials,” she said.

Head of the SKNFA Referees Department Graeme Browne reinforced the importance of the initiative, noting the link between officiating standards and the broader development of the league.

“As we move to professionalize our league in St. Kitts and Nevis, so too must our professionalism and report writing improve,” he said.

The workshop was facilitated by SKNFA Council Member Alleyne Morris, who emphasized the fundamentals of report writing and the importance of accuracy in match documentation.

“All of us here are officiating in a match…and we are tasked with providing the Competitions Committee with a report. Information that reaches the competition committee only reaches the Disciplinary Committee if necessary,” she explained.

This initiative underscores the SKNFA’s ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded officials and raising the overall standard of football across the federation.
