St. Kitts and Nevis National Team Star Cloey Uddenberg Joins AFC Toronto Ahead of Historic NSL Season

Toronto, ON — Cloey Uddenberg, a standout midfielder for the St. Kitts and Nevis Senior Women’s National Team, is set to make history once again—this time with AFC Toronto—as the Northern Super League (NSL), Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league, kicks off in April.

A dynamic player with international experience, Uddenberg has proudly represented St. Kitts and Nevis on the world stage, bringing her talent and tenacity to the national team. Now, she is turning her focus to club football, joining AFC Toronto as one of its first signings.

Uddenberg’s journey to professional soccer has been marked by notable achievements. A former University of Guelph Gryphon, she was named U Sports Rookie of the Year in 2021—the first in the program’s history—while also earning All-Canadian and OUA MVP honors. She further sharpened her skills in NCAA Division I with the University of South Alabama and Purdue University, as well as three standout seasons in League1 Ontario, where she was crowned Midfielder of the Year in 2023.

Beyond her club and collegiate career, Uddenberg’s dedication to St. Kitts and Nevis remains steadfast. She has proudly worn the national team jersey, inspiring the next generation of Caribbean footballers. As AFC Toronto prepares for its inaugural match against the Montreal Roses on April 19 at BMO Field, Uddenberg is ready to make her mark. With the rise of women’s professional sports in Canada—from the PWHL to the upcoming WNBA franchise—it’s an exciting time for athletes like Uddenberg who are breaking barriers both on and off the field.
