St Kitts-Nevis Draw with Puerto 1-1

The St Kitts Nevis Senior Men’s National team played Puerto Rico on Friday 7th October in the JRL Stadium, Puerto Rico. The St Kitts-Nevis team, on their return leg of the 2014 World Cup Qualifier with Puerto Rico, was unable to emerge victorious against Puerto Rico. The first goal off the boot of Andres Cabrero came in the 37th minute. At the end of the first half St Kitts Nevis went to the locker room down 1 goal to nil.

At the beginning of the second half St Kitts-Nevis came back to the field re-energized. In the 57th minute Ian “Rumpy” Lake would put St Kitts-Nevis on the score board with their only goal. These two (2) goals would be the only goals scored in the match, and both teams would have to settle for a 1-1 draw once again.

The Group D standing after Friday’s Matches is as follows:
Canada 9 points
St Kitts Nevis-5 points
Puerto Rico-2 points
St Lucia -0 points

St Kitts Nevis will come up against St Lucia on Tuesday 11th October in Warner Park at 8 pm and will definitely have to win the match if they hope to advance to the next round. They defeated St Lucia 4-2 on the 6th September in Beausejour Stadium and would be expected to have an even better showing at home.
