
St. Kitts-Nevis Olympic Committee Sponsors St. Kitts-Nevis U-20 Men’s National Team
The St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) continues to invest significantly in the development of sports in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis in facilitating its Member Sporting Federations in their preparations for and participation in major qualifying competitions under their auspices.
The latest beneficiary of such development is the St Kitts Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) whose Under 20 National Team has travelled On Monday 13th June, 2016 to the Dominican Republic to participate in the Caribbean Football Union’s (CFU) qualifiers that will be played over the period June 14th to 19th, 2016.
The SKNOC’s contribution to the team’s participation is in the tune of E.C $50,481.70 for the purchase of airline tickets for twenty-one (21) players and one (1) coach.
The entire SKNOC’s Executive extend best wishes to the SKNFA’s Under 20 National Team in their quest to be successful in this first phase of the qualifiers.
Similarly, with the count down to the close of the qualification period for the sport of Track and Field/Athletics for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, a number of the St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association’s (SKNAAA) elite Track and Field athletes have recently received assistance to compete in a number of overseas qualifying events. Mr Jason Rogers, Mr Lestrod Roland, Mr Allistar Clarke and Ms Tameka Williams are all recipients of recent competition assistance.
Congratulations therefore are in order to Ms Tameka Williams, who on Saturday 11th June, 2016 ran a Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifying performance time of 23.05s in the 200m event at the Star Athletics Pro Meet in Orlando, Florida.
