St. Kitts- Nevis U-20 Fail to Make Finals but Succeed in Representing with Pride.
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago- The St. Kitts-Nevis U-20 Male National Team have come to the end of their World Cup Qualifier journey. The team departed the island in hope of advancing to the Finals of the CFU MEn’s U-20 competition but fell short of accomplishing the task at hand.
In the first match Team SKN suffered a 2-1 loss to the likes of Aruba. Our lone goalscorer Tahir Hanley is the brother of Tishan Hanley who just recently represented St. Kitts in the Senior Men’s Tournament. St. Kitts-Nevis then faced the Spanish powerhouse Dominican Republic and again fell, this time three goals to one. One lone goalscorer for that match was Jamieson McKoy.
In the final game our young Sugar Boyz came up against Haiti. They lost this game five goals to two. Our goalscorer for this game was Carlos Bertie. Although we may have lost these games, we have definitely put ourselves on the map. St. Kitts and Nevis have qualified for the second round of our three most recent tournaments. Our Senior Women competed recently in Trinidad and Tobago and our Senior Men’s team look to advance further after travelling to Haiti.
To our young men we say a hearty “THANK YOU” for representing our nation with pride and honour. We appreciate you!
