St. Kitts-Nevis recover after first loss
Port-au-Prince, Haiti- St. Kitts-Nevis Senior Men’s national team failed to qualify for the final round of the CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup by goal difference. On Wednesday 10th October, the team faced French Guiana who, in the last matchup defeated SKN. In 2012, French Guiana traveled to St. Kitts to compete in a downpour of rain. The results showed that French Guiana were much more experienced in playing under such conditions as they walked away with the victory.
Now, two years later we meet. SKN came out of the gates with lightning bolt pace, hungry for victory. Orlando Mitchum was assisted by Harrison Panayiotou in capitalizing on a goal scoring opportunity. Determined rivals French Guiana would then return the favour minutes later with an equalizing goal.
Tishan Hanley would be the saviour of the game as he controlled a beautiful lofted pass served by Romaine Sawyers and blazed it past the goalkeeper. Not long after ,the whistle sounded for the end of play. With one more game to play SKN were still in the running to become finalists.
