Team SKN Leaves for Concacaf Futsal Qualifiers Finals tomorrow.
In what one may describe as a lucky turn of events for Team St. Kitts-Nevis, we have managed to qualify for the finals of the Concacaf Futsal Finals July 2-8.
On 28th June, 2012, the team headed by Mr. Jeffrey “Pedro” Hazel will travel to Guatemala to engage in matchups against Cuba, Mexico and Costa Rica in the final round of Futsal qualifications.
The members of the team are:
Julani Archibald
Kevin Benjamin
Javeim Blanchette
Akil Byron
Devaughn Elliot
Ian Lake
Tiran Hanley
Joel Jeffers
Orlando Mitchum
Aiden Nurse
Errol O’loughlin
Travis Somersal
Coach: Jeffrey Hazel
Physio: Kenneth Douglas
Coach “Pedro”, who has had experience with Futsal on numerous occasions such as his coaching trips to Germany and Trinidad, was very confident in his teams potential and capability to emerge with good results.
When asked what he expects to gain from entering an area of the sport that has never before been tried, he explained that the players will gain experience not only in being in regional competition, but also in a game relatively new to most of them. He also explained that the team being in the final round of qualifications will afford St. Kitts-Nevis further exposure in the football world.
When questioned about his objectives, he exclaimed that “all national teams enter tournaments hoping to win and to advance if advancement is an option. In this case we hope to advance to Thailand in November 2012.
We would like to wish our boys the best of luck in this new endeavor.
