VILLAGE SUPERSTARS U-13 SHOW RESILIENCE IN 2–2 DRAW AGAINST NEWTOWN UNITED

Village Superstars Under-13 Boys demonstrated determination and fighting spirit on Saturday October 18, as they battled back from two goals down to secure a 2–2 draw against Newtown United in the 2025–2026 SKNFA Under-13 Boys League. The exciting encounter took place at the Patsy Allers Playing Field in St. Johnson’s Village.

Newtown United, eager to rebound from their defeat to Dream Chasers Saddlers United last weekend, took control early with a goal in the first half and doubled their lead shortly after the restart. But Village Superstars staged a spirited comeback, scoring twice late in the second half to earn a well-deserved point.

Rajan Morton, captain of the Village Superstars U-13 team, said he felt it was his responsibility to lift the morale of his teammates during the game.

“I tell them keep believing and keep their confidence going and to stay together as a team,” said Morton. “I’m very proud of everybody that participated, everybody that put in the effort.”

Looking ahead, Morton said the team remains focused on improving for their next match.

“They need to stay together, make cleaner passes and shoot more to the goal,” he added.

Johnson Francis of Newtown United was also pleased with his team’s progress despite the draw.

“We performed well, very, very well. We played better than last week,” Francis said. “We had more heart and we had more passion. We played harder and more defensively. But just, because of the injury time, if (Village) didn’t get that, we would have won.” Francis expressed confidence in his team’s prospects for the season. “We will win, we must win in Jesus’ name,” he declared.
